Price and downloads
Do I have to pay a subscription?
No. Creating your account and designing are free, and so is your first map. After that you only pay for the maps you want to download: €4.00 per map, or less with packs (5 maps for €15.00, 12 for €30.00). No fees, no commitment.
Do the maps have a watermark?
Only the preview in the editor. Once you unlock a map you download it clean, without a watermark and in high resolution.
What resolution do they have and in which sizes can I download them?
Portrait (3000×4200 px), landscape (4200×3000 px), square (3600×3600 px) or a story for social media (2700×4800 px), all included in the same map. They work on screen and in print up to A4 or A3: posters, catalogues or a framed print.
Can I change a map after downloading it?
Yes. Go back to the editor, change whatever you like and download it again, in any format, without paying again.
Do the maps I buy expire?
No. The maps you buy in a pack never expire: use them whenever you like. Keep in mind that a copy of a map (duplicate) counts as a new map.
What you can do
What is a GPX file and how do I get one?
It is the standard format GPS devices, sports watches and apps such as Wikiloc, Komoot or Strava use to save a route. You upload one GPX per map, and if it has several tracks they are all drawn. If you don't have one, you can draw the route straight on the map.
Can I mark the stages of a multi-day trip?
Yes. Each stop has its own name, date and icon, and each stretch can be named (Stage 1, Stage 2…) and drawn solid, dashed (a ferry) or dotted (on foot). Drag names and markers wherever you like.
Can I customise colours and fonts and add my logo?
Yes: colours of the line, markers and texts, 28 typefaces, texts on a coloured box, a frame and free texts. You can upload your logo and reuse it on all your maps, and save your style as a preset to apply it in one click.
Does it work in any country, and in which languages can the map be?
Yes, the data covers the whole world. The texts of the map, such as dates and place names, can be in 20 languages (English, Spanish, French, German, Italian…), and your labels appear exactly as you write them.
Professional use and privacy
Can I use the maps commercially, for example for my agency or an event?
Yes. You can use them on your website, social media, catalogues, posters and presentations, including to promote your trips or events, keeping the OpenStreetMap credit shown on the map. What is not allowed is reselling the map as a product. For agencies there is a pack of 25 maps for €50.00.
Where does the map data come from?
We use open data from OpenStreetMap and public elevation models for the relief. Every map includes the credit its licence requires.
Who can see my maps and routes?
Only you. Your routes and maps are private and are only shared if you download the map and choose to publish it.
